A better projection starts with a clean template
The practical checks that keep your geometry, canvas, and surface preview in agreement.
Set the canvas first
The uploaded image canvas is the coordinate system for your generated media. Export at the same aspect ratio as the input composition you intend to play. Use a clear PNG when possible; JPEG and WebP are also accepted.
Keep the dimensions with your original project notes. Matching the input composition to the exported video makes the final playback setup easier to reason about.
Use simple, filled surfaces
Use solid, readable surface shapes with strong contrast from the background. Preserve the exact canvas, margins, seams, and perspective from the input composition.
Avoid labels, editor handles, selection boxes, UI chrome, and unrelated scenery. The model sees the template as an image reference, so every visible mark can influence the result.
Remove what the map does not need
Export a real PNG, JPEG, or WebP file rather than renaming a native mapping project or preset. Keep the editable source project separately.
Use an even pixel width and height when you plan to animate the result. Video encoders commonly require even dimensions, and Lenscap validates this before generation.
Troubleshoot a template uploadTreat the preview as a checkpoint
Compare surface positions, aspect ratio, internal seams, corners, and negative space with the original. Use the swipe overlay after generation to inspect drift before animating.
The reference guides generation but does not mathematically lock every pixel. If a result changes important geometry, do not rely on animation to repair it; revise the template or choose another still.
